How to Achieve your Health Goals

how to achieve your health goals

We’re in the middle of February and you’re STILL struggling to get on your feet and get moving toward your goal this year to get fit or be healthier or eat better… Guurrll, do I know what that feels like! Stop. Take a deep breath. Know that you, my friend are not alone! I’ve been there one too many times! SO I thought I’d lend a helping hand by giving YOU 5 incredibly useful tips, that I use myself, to help achieve your health goal this year!

Tip #1 Get SMART

Thats right, tip number 1 is all about setting them good ol’ SMART goals. Haven’t heard of them? No problem! SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely goals. Setting these goals will help you get super clear on what your goals are so that you can actively work towards them rather than plod along all year round until you get to the next New Year and make the same goal you did for the last 5 years. If you’d like more information on how to set SMART goals, get in touch, let me know and I will gladly whip up a ‘SMART Goal How to’ post for you!

Tip #2 If you fail to plan, you plan to fail

You’ve heard it, I’ve heard it. Planning is key! What I do is sit down once a week and write out all my to do’s for the next week, this way I’m not scrambling around and stressing about every single appointment or due date in my head. It’s really easy. Take 30 minutes from your week and write down everything you’d like to achieve, keeping your SMART goals, meal prep times, personal training sessions in mind. Feel free to add in anything else that you feel will help keep you on track for the week to come. You can go into as much detail as you want!

Tip #3 Be reminded

I’m going to share a VERY complex tip with you… You know that lil’ device we call a phone? Yeah girl, that baby can be your ultimate reminder machine! All you have to do is set reminders for yourself throughout your day and week. Simple reminders like “drink water” or “meal prep” will help you keep on track and achieve your goals for that week!

Tip #4 Treat yourself!

No one likes being told they can’t do something, it only makes them want to do it more. RIGHT?! How do you get over that barrier when you’re trying to cut out XYZ food? Some say you should ‘just do it’ BUT that didn’t work for me. Plus it makes you feel like absolute (POOP) when you crash and burn…. and then binge. So instead, I started to meal prep 2-3 healthy alternatives to the treats I love so that I could munch away on them in my time of snack need. This. Worked. Wonders! Instead of depriving myself of the food I love, I now get to have them guilt free!!! *fist bump*

Tip #5 Get Accountable

I cannot stress this enough ladies! Get yourself an accountability partner or friend or professional! Before I got accountable with a support group, I would lose track before the end of the first week and just give up and so the cycle would start and restart over and over and over again. From personal experience, I know that sometimes it can be hard to get a friend or family member to be your accountability buddy and it can be SUPER expensive to get a paid personal trainer.

I know how hard it can be so I am extending an invitation to you to join our support page on Facebook! I will keep you accountable with weekly check-ins and will continue to share inspiration and motivation to help you reach your goals! I work with an incredible group of people who have helped over 1,000 individuals reach their health goals, come join the mission! Get in touch now and I will personally listen to, help and support you through your health journey!

Overall, I extremely believe that in order to achieve your personal goals, it is essential to have discipline in yourself. When having discipline becomes a habit, that habit can make you achieve greater things. It helps you to focus and boost your self-esteem. These factors are very much needed especially when you have a long-term goal. It gives you a drive or motivation to do things as planned. And eventually, you’ll reward yourself greatly for achieving those goals of yours.

I truly hope these tips have brought value to you today and I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Until next time. Love, Jeanelle
